Now $6500 is just sad. That's $10k less than a new one, and in the ballpark with much much shittier bikes. Stupid motorcycle market!

I emailed him. If that ad is real, it's still available and it doesn't have anything major wrong with it... I am buying it. That is stupid cheap. The suspension alone is like $5k from Ducati.

I am looking at it Sunday. Talked to the guy and the issues make sense. Just unsure about where the oil leak is actually coming from.

Just pray it's not the cylinder head or the bottom end. Most other things are easy to fix.

Praying away... I've got the O2 sensors off of my HS stripped off along with all my luggage and some tools in big North Face duffel ready to roll out. Checking it out on Sunday with plans to ride it back to Denver after some fooling around in the Sierras... assuming it checks out that is..

I Ride: 2015 Hypermotard
I'm jealous, that's essentially the roadtrip I have planned for next year in celebration of my 40th. I'll take a least direct, most entertaining route from SF to and from Grand Lake for the 4th of July fireworks. Probably do northern roads on the way there and a southern route on the way back. Have fun!

My full itinerary is actually pretty nuts, I have a whole month off.

Last day at current job (today 7-14)
Buy bike in LA
Park it at LAX for a week and fly to Bend, OR
Back to LAX - ride to Mammoth Lakes - Eastern Sierras for a week
Ride to Yellowstone
Back to Denver - park bike
Fly to NH
Sailing course and certification (ASA101)
Week in Maine
Sailing course and certification (ASA103)
Back to Denver
Start new job (aug 14)

Could not get logistics to work out to have the bike on the East Coast but the original hope was to ride it out to Cape Breton

My personal suggestion would be to skip all that non bike time and just ride the bike all over the western US :-)

Believe me I considered it! The problem is that I like taking the smaller roads and it would take days to get to Oregon. No freeways. Ever.
