Kuksul08 - which year did you buy? Do you frequent any BMW forums? I have enjoyed reading about your developments and expertise on the Hyper.

BTW ... I have not had any interest in selling my Hyper here around home (Michigan) even at the low price.

I bought a left over 2016 that was being discounted. They never imported the 2017's to the US, and I wanted to get a Euro3 version before Euro4 rolled out. Better fueling, easier to mod, lighter weight, etc. I will occasionally visit the UK forum but I'm not really active and haven't developed anything for that bike yet. Quite frankly it's pretty much perfect in stock form. It does need lights though... the headlight is pretty weak.

I've had a number of bites here in the bay area, but people back out. I think it's the style of bike really. What kills me is that your awesome 'strada is listed at $7500, and a fricken DRZ400 will fetch $6k+. They are not even on the same playing field.

If I'd not bought my SP already I'd be all over this bike, whoever does buy it will be happy. These bikes take a little sorting but are great after that and you've already sorted yours.

...so I have heard about the handlebar vibration in the 2016 model. Do you agree? Apparently the 2018 has had this worked out?

Yep. After the starter, clutch, and rapidbike it's been very solid.

The vibes were noticeable in the first 2000 miles and have tapered off since then. I added handlebar weights and I don't even notice them anymore. I've done 12hr days with no complaints. The 2018 has a different tune that is said to slightly reduce them, but they are still there according to reviews.

Basically yeah the vibes are a NON-issue whatsoever. It's sad they tainted the reputation of that bike because it's so good overall.

Well I found a buyer. Quite a bit less than I originally hoped, but it's time to move on.

Sadly it seems that the market doesn't account for time and money invested in something like the engine tuning. Just year, miles, and general condition, that's it!
