Trouble with Panniers

I had to use a flat head screw driver to push the locking pin back in order to remove the panniers. Am I doing something wrong? I followed the manual but they would not come off simply by turning the key and pulling on the handle. Any advice?

I watched my dealer do it. Turned key and gave pretty hard tug, maybe not directly up but a little aft. I would look at which angle the alignment pins recess into panniers and that should tell you which direction to yank.

Mine seem to be finicky as well. I struggle a bit to get them off with a strong tug in the aft direction as suggested. Maybe it's just a matter of getting the knack of it.

Mine are awkward too, to lift them out i pull on the handle and bang underneath. One pannier is fine the other not so easy. :/

Strong pull

I took suggestions but still had a tough time getting these things off. I pulled hard and aft. I was hesitant to use more and more force but they eventually came off. Not sure if there is a better way yet. Will advise if I find easier way. Have to check out mechanism to see why it is so hesitant to release bags.

I wouldnt put anything on it that would attract grit, maybe try some candle wax on it first
