Hyperstrada fuel consumption/seat comfort

Would some of you lucky new owners be prepared to give us some ideas on your fuel consumption so far? Ideally km/ L, or L per 100km, which is how we work Down Here!

And - some early reports suggested that the seat tends to push the rider too far forward onto the tank, leading to the effect technically known as Crushed Nuts. Any comments on this too, please.

Questions relate to Hyperstrada!

Still awaiting delivery of mine, ordered January 18th - eta now 'May' - which we are in already!

Thanks... keep those reports and pix coming, please.

My first real fillup this morning. I'm about 185 lbs and 5' 11", my bike has 200 miles so still in break-in (trying to stay below 5.5k rpm).

Low fuel warning light came on 133 miles and I stopped to fill up at 148 miles. Took 2.92 gallons = 50.68 mpg. My average speed from the computer was 45 mph. Lots of stop and go and mostly all 2 lane back roads.

Speedo is 3 to 4 mph fast around 60 and 75 mph according to my GPS. 4K rpm is 60mph.

I am going to start putting in my mileage info at www.fuelly.com. It's a site that allows you to track your mileage and compare it with other owners who have the same vehicle. I think it would be interesting if a bunch of us did this. The hstrada wasn't in the drop down list so I just went to 'other' and wrote it in. Seems promising.

I only rode it for a short time today but my balls were just fine. I actually think that due to the upright seating position it will be pretty ball friendly. What worries me about the seat it's how there's a portion that is elastic in the back and it wouldn't surprise me if it cracked or split after a while.

I've been getting about 40mpg with the fuel light coming on around 110mi and it had about 1.5g left in the tank. i would give it about a 175mi range if your touring on it and about a 150mi range in town. I did notice the seat tends to lean you forward a bit if you sit back on it, or push you forward. My balls are fine though and i have over 600mi on it lol. I think the seat just needs to be broken in like a good couch. Its called a mid range tourer for a reason, so inhearantly the seat is not going to be as comphy as the multi, but i think it will do for a 25 year old smart ass like myself for longer multi day rides

Ride hard and fast

and slow!

On the last tank, which was some 75mph cruising and spirited twisties (well for Louisiana, more like small sweepers), only got 47 mpg. That was lightly loaded with panniers and topcase.

Jerdog53, Im not sure we can get that mileage since we live at high altitudes and everywhere we go is usually uphill.
