I found out the hard way that my new Hyperstrada doesn't have a lot of clearance while off roading in some rocky (and closed) roads. Luckily, it was just the gearshift toe that got bent. Has anyone tried out the spring loaded one from Hammerhead? They don't exactly advertise that it works on my bike, but it seems implied...

I'd add the photo, but as a newbie to this forum, I can't figure out how to upload it. A URL request for a picture sitting on my desktop??? Or in iPhoto??? This is one problem I don't see getting fixed by applying more throttle!

Don't try and bend it back. The aluminum just snaps. Maybe some heat would work?

I broke the foot off trying to bend it back. Had to have it on the road the next day so I drilled a hole through were the foot was and countersunk a bolt about the same length and wrapped it in black waterproof tape. Worked fine. New lever is about $150 USD, I think.

Yep, the old one didn't snap off, but there was a significant crack that would have finished off if I had tried to bend it back, even with heat. I'm happy to say that the Hammerhead fits perfect, and only $110 shipped, arriving in 48 hours!

Have you been off the pavement with the D616s and how happy are you overall with these?
