43,000 klms this weekend - Feb 7, 2016. Bike was purchased in Dec 14, has had all the recalls and Ducati have serviced....only issue was the rear shock that destroyed it's internals early on.....but apart from that bike has run well. Desmo service really refreshed the bike.....they did all eight valves and only found two that really needed any serious adjustment. I'm told that this was not usual. I expect chain and sprockets at around 50k and probably pads.... Should also say I don't use it as a commuter and ride manly in touring. Lube the chain every 500k and clean every 1500k. Keep it on trickle charge and have had no start issues. Have to say that it's gotten stronger the more I've ridden it. Yes it was more expensive than the Honda I was looking at to purchase...and the switch gear is sh+t but generally the bike is just a joy. In terms of running cost per kilometre, and given the distances I've done the bike is cheaper to maintain that the published service cost of a Yama MT09 Tracer. Got my 2013 working fine until it suffer the disco mobile syndrome... It's now fixed and it clocked 63200 km before I stored it for the winter. Three other months and back on the road. |

Mostly pretty good then. Good to hear. What do you mean by the disco issue? I thought I had a serious issue (which I posted about on this forum), but it turns out the battery had just died. Yes, I felt pretty silly. I've thought about trading her for the bmw f800gs or the triupmh tiger, but I don't feel like either of those bikes would provide the same "feeling" as this bike. It's great. If I weren't paranoid about reliability then there'd be no question. I plan to keep her for now, and I've enjoyed the last two weekends of riding. I really need to post some photos! |

36,000 miles on mine. Only had the bad coil problem in the beginning at about 600 miles, and had a blown FI fuse at about 30000 miles Other than that no problems, and the best bike I've owned. Love this thing! |

Digging this thread back up. How are these things holding up? I am looking at buying one with 20k miles on it already and want to make sure it will last a while.

I'm at 6200 miles but plan to do the belts this winter which puts them at about 5 years
