Which outlet did you run that from or did you connect it directly to the wiring supply inside the front faring?

I was thinking of running cables from under the seat but have concerns about durability/connection due to weather here in MPLS.

Thought about an all weather adapter, zip tying wire along the frame and running it up to the bars. All I want to do is mount my phone up on the bars, since it has GPS, music, etc...

Nice work though...

I ran it through a SAE connector directly to the battery, these little jewels consistently draw a little bit of voltage and will run the battery down over the period of a week unless disconnected. I have had no weather related issues other than I'm sick of snow and cold...

Jer, so you're saying if you run a charger that isn't powering anything off one of the OEM power ports, it will constantly draw current?

I am saying that this USB outlet will draw a little juice even if nothing is plugged into it. I cannot speak to the OEM power ports.

No that's what I have installed, granted it was 5 years ago but as i recall it is. I ride my bike all the time so I've never had it kill the battery.

Gotcha. Thanks for the helpful reply.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but how did you connect the pigtail on the SAE connector to the USB adapter? Did you attached another pigtail?

Just a note on the powerlet outlets on the strada: because they're on the canbus system they're limited to 5 amps - for a total of 60watts.
