Haha. Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Yeah, not sure what the deal is guys. I'm trying to get a hold of Joe myself (sent him an email earlier last week), I haven't yet received a final version of the wiring harness to finish up testing and write up an install procedure. I'll update if I hear from him.

I actually just put the bike away for the winter (Love that MN snow). I'll see if I can find any of the photos I have of the unit & harness. If not, I'll pull it out and get you guys some. Believe me, I want this to work out as much as you all do, as I know how important and exciting it was for me to get it on my own bike.

I actually removed the cruise system from my bike, since some of the wires for the harness were too short to route properly and taped into the factory harness (stripped insulation, twist & solder, electrical tape. eeeeek! ). I was under the impression the production one would be entirely plug & play, as that's what Joe's other systems use. I've sourced all the connector's part numbers myself, so I know it's possible.

I've got a few more photos up of the control box:

Again, I don't have any of the wiring installed at the moment. I haven't heard from Joe, so worst case scenerio I just make my own modifications to the harness to make it fit how i want.

Hope you are able to complete this cruise control. Shame how it turned out.

I've found the connectors Ducati is using with Digikey and they're cheap. For instance, I wanted to plug into the stock harness with my GPS. A pigtail for this is not available, discussed at length with the dealer. Then I bought a Molex to cut off the factory connector and then a Diaval site pointed out the correct part numbers at Digikey. I'm using a water proof connector outside fairing. Hope this helps you.

I want a cruise control, so I hope you figure this out. Good luck.

So as it turns out, Brandon Distributing has shut it's doors. Now that it's played out in that direction, I have a few things I wanted to say.

The cruise system that I have up to this point isn't 100% perfect. I think the problem exists somewhere in the wiring harness, since the crimp connectors and solder joints are not exactly the best. Some of the wires also have small nicks in them, which could be part of the issue. There are also some missing wire seals, so some of the connectors aren't water tight. For something I put on my own motorcycle I think this is unacceptable (for a testing unit, it's fine). In my testing, I was able to get the cruise to work as expected, but about 2 out of 15 times I tried to set my speed, the check engine light would come on. The light would shut off after about 30 seconds, and the cruise worked just as intended, but obviously a CEL isn't wanted on a production quality system. I never experienced any kind of limp mode or anything, so at least that's a plus.

At this point, I urge anyone who has sent him payment to contact your credit card company and have them issue a chargeback.

Now, I still am dead set on getting cruise working, and getting something to market so everyone here can benefit. I've sourced all the connectors in Joe's harness, and am certain that it can be produced. As for the cruise control box, it's a Smart Line AP900C. This is a generic unit that comes from overseas, but it seems Joe is the only distributor in the US. MC Cruise out of Melbourne Australia also carries this unit. I will be trying to contact them to see if I can get them to pick this up where Joe left off. This is because while I have a functional unit, you can't just buy an AP900C off the shelf and plug it into the harness. It needs to be programmed, and I have no clue how to do that. I'm hoping MC Cruise is able to pull the configurations out of my unit and start from there.

There's a thread over on the ADV Rider forum in the KTM 1190 section that's a really good read if you all are still interested. Joe was orginally the one to help create the first working system, but MC Cruise has apparently also entered the market for that bike, and reports seem to be that theirs is more reliable.

I've already been contacting electronics distributors to try and buy all the connectors and wire I need to try fixing all the problems I have with a new harness. This would be just to get mine more functional, I hope that MC Cruise out of Melbourne can get a working unit ready for sale, so more people can enjoy cruise.

Not up my alley, but sometimes I think of putting in a junction box or a neutrino, and have pondered underseat space. The trick, I think, is to get a small case LI-ion battery - probably half the size of stock - and use the newly freed up space for other stuff.

That's a good idea. The fuel modules that go on the ECU require removing the tool kit. I freed up a nice cavity by removing the exhaust valve motor, but it's still not that big.
