What's interesting are two good points:

1) You can't see the seat when being photographed while riding.

2) The flat black seat cover disappears as formless.

Note how the KonTour seats on the two K1600s are rather formless?

Looks better off the bike. I'd consider having one to throw on for long tours, however.

I sent Ron the OE seat and photos of where I sat on the seat. My weight and size dictated the larger seating area.

Options are limited as our OE seats have nearly no foam and it is that foam that is built upon as support for Ron's added memory foam layers.

Heated seating is optional, but I didn't want to add to the heated handgrip and heated vest draw I currently use. Remember we only have a 490 watt system.

I paid $705, which is a previous customer discounted price. Expensive yes, but that is value priced compared to what other real custom seat makers charge.

I still have the race seat for those times I might want that look.

I sent the Race Seat off to Renazco this week. $400 for James to work his magic. I'll report back with photos when I receive the seat back in early August.

My disappointment with their offering is the compromise in wet riding. The suede needs a plastic cover. Otherwise I might have tried them.

"How does suede hold up to the elements?

Suede is a natural material that will absorb moisture and may be a concern for those who ride in the rain. We recommend vinyl over suede if this is a concern. "

For fair weather riders Renazco might well be an exceptional choice.

Riding in the mountains mostly, I expect to be in the occasional rain storm. The last thing I want is pooled water in the seat at the crotch. Been there, done that, never again.

The springy 3D cover Ron uses is unique in that it allows for airflow under by bottom, cooling when hot out, and allows any water to flow away when it rains.

On my last seat from Ron, 1,000 miles days were fine for my bottom.

1000 mile day on your Hyperstrada? Or BMW six?

Rode on a friends "wet" KTM 950 Renazco Suede seat (sat outside, uncovered all night) ... soaked through my leathers in a half hour riding! Not a great feeling after the Sun went down!

Good comfort on Renazco's seats on KTM's I've ridden ... not as good as my Corbin or Russell Day Long on my friends GS for all day riding. Sargent and Rich's also make good seat. Good news on Renazco? Specializes in dual sport, dirt bikes and naked's.

BMW.

Had Russell Daylong seats on two GSs too.

The Hyper is my 300 to 400 mile a day bike. No cross country.

May we each find a seat that suits our own bottom as there is no one answer to personal comfort.
