I still argue that when the engine is at full summer traffic boil and the radiator fans are blowing, this bike has the least amount of heat exposure I've ever experienced. I sometimes feel heat on my thigh-knee area in traffic but it doesn't get uncomfortable.

yea this bike isn't bad. I had an older guzzi that was never seemed to heat up the rider. it was air cooled and didn't make too many of the hps though.

I went out and sat on the 939 running the engine until it was good and warmed up and then some. I could feel no heat coming from the seat, it wasn't even particularly warm. I was however getting a fair amount of heat coming off the sides of the engine being blown up my legs. I believe this in conjunction to now riding in jeans is the source. In other words I believe when I recently started riding in jeans vs my thicker riding pants I just began to feel the heat.

I called James Renazco and told him my theory and to hold off on any heat shield for the seat pan.

Good move! Yea, pretty sure it's the Jeans that are letting more heat though.
As said by others above, I've not had any real heat issues on my bike. Some bikes really COOK YOU, not this one.

With the weather in the mid atlantic lately I haven't been riding in jeans. No more squidding on the HOV. Time for some riding pants.
