A few questions from new owner

I have a new to me 2015 hyperstrada. I have a couple of questions if someone could look at their bike and help.

I had to reattach the pannier system as the previous owner had removed it. Is the silver parts of the lower bolts menat to be visible? See lower part of the bracket in pic. It has a kind of gap between the bracket and the undertray. Or is there supposed to be some kind of spacer or something.

I have another question about display which is hard to read in sunlight. It seems dull / faded / greyed out & hard to read. I’ve taken a pic in normal light to try and illustrate - is this standard or should the dark writing eg speed be proper black? (The bright spots are just reflection in reality it is even all across).

Last question - I need to refit the original mirrors. But only the left one has a locknut with it. Is the right one supposed to have one too? Annoyingly that is the one that is left hand thread so if it is, I’m going to be out of luck.

Thanks

Congrats on the purchase.
1) yep they're meant to be visible. totally normal
2) My display is similar to yours, the screen is really sensitive to scratches FYI
3) Are you talking about where the mirror stem attaches to the handlebar? If so, you should only have 2 hex bolts, no locknut on mine.

You can add a screen protector to the display to prevent further damage. It actually fills in the small lines to make it look more normal again too.

I removed the panniers bracket , there are 4 bolts very easy to remove . You can put them back when you need them, it takes 1 minute. The bike looks cleaner. The only bracket left is the one in the back holder.

If the screen has faded due to the plastic aging you *might* be able to bug Ducati for a replacement, I thought they had fixed that in later models, I know it happened a lot on the 2013 bikes.

I can't recall it my original mirrors had a lock nut of both sides or not but I'd guess they did.

My 2013 display is fine. Few light scratches when I got sloppy cleaning but it sounds like yours just wasn't cared for correctly. Maybe he used a cleaner that upset it. It's supposed to have a slightly hazy look as I think that's for deflecting sunlight so you can read when it's very bright.

Adjusting display brightness in menu only affects backlighting, not graphics. Always looked to me like you could just peel the protective film off and replace. I could be wrong.

Thankyou. I think the screen is alright actually, it is just a bit weird in real bright sunlight.

Further question, can one if you oook at your clutch cable and tell me if it goes down the same way mine dies? See pic. It goes down inside the metal kind of bracket quite central and I’m not sure if it should actually curve more gently over it. It looks like it makes the bend too tight.

Also see pic of mirrors - one has nut, one does not. Should both have nut?

I don,t know about the mirrows, but the cable clutch looks ok. I had the same question and went to see some Hypermotard and HS in the shop, all look the same.
