Gearing

Hi
Has anybody changed the gearing of their hyperstrada yet, I would like to lower the revs for motorway cruising. Not to sure the best way to go whether to change front or rear sprocket.

Conversely I changed the front sprocket down one tooth to a 14 so it pulls better down low. 3 in the back equals 1 in the front

I change the rear spocket to 41 teeth. Had to shorten the chain to 106 links.
Lower the rpm with about 500 at 100 km/h. Perfect for me.

Thanks for the advice StefanR, where did you get the rear sprocket from?
I have tried all my local sources and they cannot supply a front or rear sprocket yet as it is such a new bike.

I bought this in a Swedish mc-shop:
Sprocket Carrier JTA750B, 875 SEK
Sprocket JTA752-41, 560 SEK
JT Sprockets: Catalogue

I also changed the front sprocket to 14 tooth. Much better around town.

With the dicky clutch it was hard to start in traffic without the fear of stalling.

Fuel consumption - Just back from 2 week tour from aberdeen to Sardinia and Corsica. Fuel consumption drops by about 10mpg if you sit above 6000rpm
constantly on motorways. Tank range to reserve above 6000rpm was 105 miles, best on trip was 162 miles to reserve doing the mountain passes in Sardinia.
