I Ride: Hyperstrada
Sport and Touring mode

I would like to know how you perceived the different modes.

My opinion:

Touring mode
Good torque in middle rpm range.

Sport mode
Not so good torque in the middle rpm range as Touring mode.
Maybe more power at high rpm on first and second gears.
I am actually not sure what this mode delivers.

ECU version
18

It's not so much net power I notice in Sport, it's the very snappy throttle response. When I spend a while in Sport and switch back to Touring, it honestly feels slower with the dampened throttle response, especially off the line.

I could well be wrong, but my understanding is that both modes use the same fueling and ignition curves, and the difference is down to the throttle opening rate.

Yea I'm pretty sure there is no actual difference in power or torque between high and med engine setting just the smoother throttle response. I tried the stock urban mode once and quickly turn that mode into, 0 DTC, 0 ABS, engine med.

How do you know which ECU version you have in your bike?

I've noticed the same difference as some of you, the throttle response that is more direct in sport mode. Haven't tested sport mode a lot, I go mostly in touring mode until I get 2500 km, when I could pass form 7000 rpm.

I got this from the workshop when they updated the ECU.
The ECU version should be 18, not 19. Sorry.

I live in "Touring" mode, only went into "Sport" once, and that was enough, too touchy.

I read somewhere that the three modes operate as follows:
Sport (engine high): quick initial throttle response, 110 hp
Touring (engine medium): slower initial response, still 110 hp
Urban (engine low): slower initial response, 75 hp.

Those are factory default, you can switch power settings in any mode. I have turned the DTC and ABS down in Touring, might go a bit farther in Sport if I turn the engine power down to medium.

Sport mode is my favorite... after getting the ECU update the low throttle angle fueling is much improved.
