Hyperstrada size

Last week I went to the Cleveland bike show with the express intention of seeing and sitting on the Hyperstrada. In person it looks great but the size of the bike became a big concern. I am 5 ' 9 and had an air cooled 1000 for 5 years and loved it.
The new Hyperstrada is small in size; very small. My concern is that while the performance and handling will be great, the ride to and from the fun will be very cramped. The seat appeared to be comfortable, but there is no room for movement. I went in wanting to love this bike and came out considering a Triumph or KTM.

I Ride: 2013 white hyperstrada!!
Hello. I havent had the chance to sit on a hyperstrada or even a hypermotard for that matter. But in some posts in this forum i came across pictures of guys sitting on the bike; one was 6'3 and he didnt look horribly big on it. I guess for me anything will be an improvment coming from a yamaha R 6 sportsbike.

Hey Steve, I was there for all 3 days to get an up and close look at the 'Strada. I too felt a little cramped. I'm used to sitting a little further back then the hs allows. I'm going to have the seat tweaked to move the slope back a few inches (not a big deal according to everyone I've spoken to). I think you'll get used to the feel after a short time. BTW, I'm 5'9" also.

I first sat on a few models of Ducati bikes (Monsters, etc) a few weeks ago when placing my pre-order for the Hyperstrada, and they all felt positively tiny! My guess is that because the architecture of the engine is so narrow that enhances the 'lack of bulk' perception. Stick with it, Steve!! L of S

And this is what appeals to me, the small light weight nimble and flickable is right up my alley! The other Multistradas all seem soooo big to me and I just canít get past itÖ

I agree jerdog. It's nice and light for around town when you're sight seeing, but when you want to open her up it'll be like sitting on a rocket

I got to the Ducati booth early at the Seattle show before the Hyperstrada was put on it's paddock stand. Lifting off the side stand I loved how narrow and light it felt. I also liked the upright riding position.
