that to me, is an elegant topcase solution. aren't you going to install the lower support bars? with the weight of that topcase and its contents, you'd want to have that reinforcement. just my opinion

Definitely going to put the supporting bars on there. As it is, I wouldn't trust the plate to support the weight of a pinion rider pressing back on the case. This was just a temporary partial setup to get the case home from the dealer. The bars are, however, going to take some minor tweaking to conform to the Hyper's lower mounting points. I'll post pics of the completed project as soon as I find the time to get it finished.

What'd you do to your Hyperstrada today?-image.jpgNew parts !

Arrow X-cone slip on
Ducati Carbon wind screen
Reverse retro mirrors
R&G bar end pucks

Arrow can sounds much better than stock can, no baffle
Ducati wind screen does work very well.I'm 5'9' and do 85 on the highway with no buffering. Have tried Laminar Lip on stock screen,(sucked) Very noisy. Sent it back, got my money back.
Reverse retros are eBay cheapies, but work much better than stock

You're talking about that little Ducati "windscreen" that goes for a couple of hundred bucks? I'm tempted to try that too. Or try making my own. It's so little but so expensive. It doesn't make it so you've got to hang on to the bars for dear life at 80mph? I'm 6' and have to hang on with the stock windscreen.

I dig it.
If I had the coin I'd buy every carbon fiber panel made for the Hyperstrada.

My KTM Duke had this tiny little thing over the headlight that directed air in such a way that it was smooth and quiet. I replaced it with the optional KTM touring screen and regretted it. It was smaller than the stock one on the HS. And it made the ride noisy. It was sorta useless. But I left it on the bike anyway, even when I traded it away. Maybe I'll get the little carbon one.

Me too. I'm a sucker for cool, pricey parts...
Actually, it looks good for short/local runs and the factory screen can be back on in a minute or two if needed. OK, I'm sold!

The noise is what killed the stock screen for me. Now I get both clean air and can hear my bike.

The stock screen puts noisy air right under my helmet. If I shrug my shoulders to seal off the underside of my helmet it quiets down. If I stand on the pegs over the screen it quiets down.

I actually experimented with changing the stock screen angle via a few longer screws and rubber washers. It only moved the noisy blast of air further up my helmet. I tried lowering the edge of the screen by raising the front up but it looked silly.

I saw this one day. Um, not just no. Hell no.
Link to something I think I could make better with tin snips and sheet metal
