I Ride: 2014 Hyperstrada - White
SF-PCH 1-Stage Rd-Pescadero Rd-84-Skyline-280 N

As the title says. Today I took my white '14 821 Strada south from SF to Stage Rd via the 1. Then headed east to Pescadero where I had lunch before heading north east to Alice's via Pescadero Rd (one of my favs) through redwoods. It was as cold as 47F in some parts. Blew past Alice's without stopping and headed north on 35 to HWY 280 and back home.

Fitted new chain and sprockets. 14500 miles and the original one was knackered. Think the oem chain is cheap. I'd have expected longer service life from a well maintained and lubricated chain.

This is on my winter todo list. I agree the OEM chain is junk. What setup did you end up going with?

I Ride: anything I can get my hands on
Took the Strada in for the 9K service yesterday. Got to try out my new Aerostich gear and the anti-fog insert in my Shoei 1200 as it was raining for the first 20 miles. The first ten were really bad, narrow lanes and bad pavement. But I just cranked the DSP down to "Urban" and made it to Newport Beach dry, warm, and safely.

I should have made sure that they checked my VIN against the various Technical Service Bulletins before I showed up, as they did not have the improved throttle unit. The tech re-adjusted the clutch cable, which made the first takeoff onto the busy street a bit... exciting . They also did the ECU flash and the CAN-BUS filter.

It took nearly four years to get to 9K, so the expense was not much when you spread it out. I get a discount on parts as I bought the bike there, that helps.

I'm still a satisfied customer.
