Comfortable and Affordable Protective Riding Gear

I am looking for comfortable protective riding gear that will fit me and not break the bank. It seems to be difficult to find since I am short (5' 8") and stocky (190 lbs evenly distributed).
broad legs, 32-33" waist, 30" inseam, and about 42-44" chest.

I know that I'm not the only guy that has measurements like this. I'm just hoping that someone else that reads this can offer advice on a reasonable priced brand that would make a jacket and/or pants that may fit me comfortably and offer good protection.

I haven't checked them out, but I'm at their site (http://www.cyclegear.com/) now and it looks like the prices are very competitive.

Not to be that guy, but have you tried giving RevZilla a call?

I'm almost the same size. Most of my stuff was purchased at RevZilla. I'm happy with my Scorpion Covert jeans sz. 32. Length of the jeans needs to be trimmed. My jackets are: Icon Contra sz. M for warm weather, and Icon Daytona leather sz. L for cooler days. I also have a Sas-Tec hip armor and D3O knee pads in my jeans. Knee pads are not really comfortable.

I used Revzilla. I have a Speed n Strength perforated leather jacket which is very comfortable for summer, not heavy like other leather jackets. Then look for Draggin jeans.

Check out AGV Sport riding pants. I have the khaki cargo's and aside from a little extra weight, look very casual. You can jump off the bike and roll into a store or restaurant.

The only thing that you can't hesitate on investing a little more is a good helmet.

Check out the close out section at Revzilla, I'm sure you will find the gear you need at reasonable price.
