I Ride: 13 Hyperstrada/1299s very soon!
I just had a convo with my dealer and ohlins and it appears on the quick look that we can use the ohlins shock upgrade from a 2011 streetfighter which is close to the same on the 899 and the forks complete upgrade from a 2012 multistrada. I will let you know if its confirmed and prices from my dealer and maybe a group buy if you guys want.

Penske just emailed me back and we've spoken on the phone I am probably going to drop my bike off there to them and let them use it to mock up and make the Forks and Shocks. We can use their 8983 shock w/remote with a small modification that they will do. Its just a mounting mod. They can and will develop the forks adjustable for us. I just need to know how many of you would be interested in this???

Thanks

Mike

I'd be interested in seeing what they come up with for the front forks. I have been living with the Andreani kit and they're an improvement, but I think they could be better. The way they're dialed in right now proved to be great on a recent ride upstate on smooth pavement. NYC bumps? Not good. So if this place you're talking about comes up with something for the front forks I may go for it.

Did you get the front end working better? Sounds like it - what did you do?

BTW guys this is the actual PENSKE I live an hour from them. Not a dealer but the main factory/development. Should I make a thread about this to see if I can grab more attention?

Interest is all relative. I am very interested, but not in investing thousands into the suspension. I mean, if they can have a workable solution for $1-2k (preferably on the $1k range) then okay. If you are talking $2-3k, then I would live with what I have (which I consider acceptable, but by no means great) or trade for the multi.

Unfortunately, they won't know until they put some research into it, and they probably don't want to waste their time without interest.

Where is the Penske factory located?

I see that they are in Reading, PA. For some reason I thought they were in NC, near the nascar scene.

Either way, if they need a donor bike and you are unable to give up yours, just let me know. I am close enough I'd be willing to leave it with them for a while.

I'd be interested, but also curious on the total price. If it's $4k+ for total re-vamp + install, probably worth saving up for another bike.
