Center Stand Bolt Fell Off, Other stuff

Parked my bike at a friends last night and noticed it was a bit wobbly. I didn't think much of it at first since it was a loose gravel driveway. Repositioned and it seemed fine. Later that evening I noticed something was off when I dropped off the center stand. Took a look and the left bolt was gone. Must of came off on the road since there were no parts around where I parked.

Parts are on order and it's zip tied through the missing bolt hole in the meantime.

While I was at the dealer, broke down and had them bleed my brakes. If you remember my thread on brake job, just couldn't get all the bubbles out of the rear system. They use a pneumatic bleeder and it did the trick. Beware trying to bleed that rear on your own.

Had them submit a warranty claim on my bags. They didn't seam optimistic that Duc would do anything about the fading. I also pointed out the blown stich areas.

They fixed my seat that was popping off the securing posts. It was happening so easily that I put a washer around one of the posts to help wedge the seat arm in tighter. It held on the ride home but the left seat securing arm is pretty flexible from popping off the post so much. It's pretty thin plastic and I don't think it will hold up very long.

Scrambler debut's Tuesday! It's freaky how tight-lipped the shop manager/owner were. They just kept saying "you'll have to wait till Tuesday..." when I kept poking them for details. He said all the dealers had to sign confidentiality agreements to keep details a secret but I'm sure they don't know much. He did say it won't have the 821. The old Scrambler isn't that exciting but if it has some really modern touches, could be cool.

Cheers!

Ducati has already presented the Scrambler at WDW in Misano in a container no camera and mobile was allowed, engine is the 796 of the Monster! My opinion, it's more a city bike but very nice!

Center stand bolt should've had locktight on the threads from the factory. Quite a serious issue if this has been omitted on assembly and should be a recall.
As for bleeding the brake done mine twice now and never had a problem. Since I used Mobil dot 4 fluid its never gone discoloured.

Well, I use my center stand all the time. So, locktite or not, I can understand the bolt coming loose. I also drive on shit roads, so lots of bumps and vibes at play.

Regardless, it's a couple bucks in parts. I'd rather have my bags replaced than attack for the center stand bolts...

Hi guys...since you all are talking about loose parts its worth to take note on the rear fender that holds the number plates too! Always check on the nuts holding the number plates...will come loose after some time. My friend already lost his number plates on his journey.

Good call. I don't want to loose that!

I'm thinking I just need to go over every nut and bolt on the bike. It's been almost 9000 hard miles. I saw that the 9K service call for a lot of torque checks.
