Thumbs up Windscreen extension

I went shopping around for an extension spoiler for the screen on my Hyper, as usual anything slightly out of the ordinary is hard to find in SA. So I opted for the removable "lock on" extender made for The Multistrada by Touratec.

Lock it on for long trips and touring, put it away when not needed.

Fits like a glove

Adjusted and fitted it properly last night, I will report back once I have ridden the bike.
This thing is quite expensive at U$190-00 here, not sure what it would cost elsewhere but may be worthwhile for those long touring trips when a tad more wind (and insect protection) would be good

I'm also curious as to how this changes the wind blast you get on the highway at speeds (130 kph+). Let us know how tall you are too!

I like the versatility, and I want more wind protection on the highway (which I don't hit much anymore) but, it's pretty ugly. The clamp looks like it's definitely sturdy enough. It's just a big metal eyesore and I think I would be constantly looking at that blind spot.

I actually don't mind the look so long as the thing functions properly, the large metal bracket is hinged and supplied with a key to lock the thing onto the screen - It's typical German engineering.

I am 6 foot tall, 205 pounds, I have not ridden the bike with the extension fitted yet as I have been running around the country on business, I may get a chance this weekend.
Feedback to follow.

Hi PomGT,

Thank you for your comments. I alo just bought it in Japan($160-170) by your tips.
I was looking for larger screen than DP touring one.
It will take 3-5 weeks to receive it for shipping from Germany!

I am looking forward to hearing your high-way impression.

Thanks,

HiroTokyo

That's a pleasure, I hope it helps, I have not tried my bike with it fitted yet.
Going away this weekend for a weeks tour, will report back later.

I am working on a larger windscreen. Plan is to have it mount on the stock windscreen mount. Also will have spacers to push it forward if needed to make it even taller though less aerodynamic. A 3d CAD model is used in CFD analysis to optimize the shape and to check for forces on the stock windscreen mount. Material will be Lexan Polycarbonate.

I plan to make and sell these so please send me a note if your interested.

Image below show a flat cardboard mounted on the bike. Second image is stock windscreen on two different cardboard sizes.
