Center stand screw

Hello fellow riders,

today , when i was washing my strada for winter break,
i made a discovery on one of the center stand screws.

I think it loosened itself, or is this position normal ?

Thanks for your replys.

That's definitely worked itself loose. Mine recently fell out. The factory replacement comes with Loctite. I'd definitely Loctite the threads before tightening. No torque spec info. Dealer just hand tightened in parking lot.

Light, medium and really fast ( Something almost like welded)

Ah and i've seen the torque in my manual 70Nm.

All I can tell you is that it had red thread locker on the end. I've never really been picky about thread locker. Usually just use Blue Loctite.

I will now check the center stand bolts routinely, though. I use my stand a lot and it sucked when I couldn't for a week. You may need an extra hand to line up the holes as the spring tension pulls it back pretty hard.

I've had my center stand on and off a few times, easy to install yourself if you fit the spring last using a spring pulling tool.
It's not good that another report has come of bolts loosing themselves, could be very dangerous if the stand fell off during riding!!

Yep, I lost mine late last year. I removed both side bolts, smothered them in red locktite, and reassembled. I torqued them down as tight as I could get them with the allen wrench, too.

Mine fell off last week, strangely the same side! and dealer fixed it with lots and lots of red loctite. Hopefully it holds well now but I will keep checking on it regularly now on wards.

821 2015 one year old 6k miles; left side centre stand bolt came out. Noticed it 2 days ago, came back from a ride and was putting the bike up onto its centre stand and something didn't feel right. Looked down bolt gone. Had ridden bike two days previous so it must happened on my last ride.
Phoned dealer who had one in stock, which made me suspicious;-) since this dealer has very little in stock. So might be a more common problem; dealer very apologetic and didn't even think about asking for money.
I'll be checking them regularly from now on since as said this failure could result in a big big accident.

Follow on. Getting stand back on was a right PITA until after phoning round a few shops looking for a 'suitable' spring puller ie substantial, a mechanic told me to use a strap ratchet between the stand and a spoke on rear wheel to pull the stand into place so I could get the bolts in. Worked a treat. I had previously tried this, fitting the spring on the free stand and then trying unsuccessfully to manoeuvre it into place manually.

I noticed the left side bolt was loose one while washing the bike. Blue Loctited it back in and it hasn't moved since.
