Just got an e-mail from my dealer:

"It's a mechanical problem.
The vertical cylinder didn't receive any or not enough lubrication. This way the camshafts got blocked.

The vertical cylinderhead and with it all its parts (camshafts, valves, ...) will be replaced under warranty.

We're waiting for the parts now."

So at last, after 27 days at the dealer, there is a solution. Question is, why the cylinder didn't have enough lubrication in the first place.

Anybody an idea?

I'll keep you posted.
BTW: good news to start a weekend. What can be better? (-Perhaps a bike to drive?)

Wow, sounds pretty strange. If oil was not getting to the vertical cylinder, perhaps a small sliver of metal or burr from assembly or parts manufacture got caught in an oil supply/return channel. Sounds like a freak thing.

Sorry for the long delay for you. Let's hope they now have solved the whole problem, and that you won't have any more issues with your bike. Keep us posted.

Well, the bike has been running again for the last weeks.
This is the invoice I got after all the repairs and the annual check-up:
Annual Service:
-Filter, Oil
-Copper Gasket 12.2x18x1.5mm
-Castrol Power RS Racing 4T 10-W50
-Ducati Diagnose System: Global Scan/Reset Service

Repair:
-CR115 update
-NHY Heated Handgrip Kit
-Gasket, Cylinder Head
-Liquid Gasket
-Gasket Cylinder Head Cover
-Vertical Head Assembly HYM821
-Intake Valve
-Exhaust Valve
-Timing Drive Toothed Belt
-Vertical Exhaust Camshaft
-Vertical Intake Camshaft
-Seal, Oil BAVISLRSX7 24-35-7
-Oil Pump
-Open. Rocker Arm

I think that's about it.

I guess I'm never ever buying a brand new type of Ducati in its 1st production year. But, it's been running smoother than ever. So, so far so good.
Hoping it stays this way.
