The backfire pop is one of the pleasures of banging down the gears with the slipper. I think it just does this - I'm guessing ducati worked hard to make this happen.

no, that was not hard for ducati.
it does it by its own simply because it's so lean in standard config.
with richer afr, by deactivating o2/lamda-regulation with rexxer oder any other sw, popping will decrease a lot, unfortunatly.

at my guzzi stelvio it completly disappeared. my hs still has some popping, but much less than stock.

My 2016 Strada with 1025 miles on it had the Disco light issue and wouldn't start 2 days before a scheduled trip to Nova Scotia this past summer....had to jettison the Strada and load up my Buell Ulysses. Ducati Manhattan replaced the ECU under warranty and they tell me I need to put a few miles on it to be sure the ECU is working properly. Very rough idle at first, but it seems to be getting better the more I drive it. Fingers crossed.

I have a Hyper 821 2014. i am facing the same Disco Light with a CAN Line error on the display. Luckily i was home and i had to move the bike when the lights and RPM line started blinking with fan turning on. I also had the rear indicator and the taillights blinking.

I dont know if this will be covered in warranty. Its going to be nothing less than 2000$ for the job in India.

keeping my fingers crossed.

This should be covered under warranty if your warranty is still in force.
Generally here i have observed more issues with hypermotard than hyperstradas, its strange really.

Thanks Srikz.

I am taking it to SVC day after. But before that wanted to check all Electricals because ive read posts on Ducatiís CAN LINE error being triggered often by moisture and wet connectors categorically BBS unit, ECU and Dash unit. ECU and dash are fairly accessible but BBS is under the tank. I am keeping my fingers crossed by trying to get moisture out by hot blowers but the rains since yesterday in Mumbai are not letting me step out!

Ridden through rain and my bike is stored under a cover outside - never had an issue, but it might be wetter where you are!. You can easily pull the ecu connectors and look for corrosion and put some dielectric grease on the pins Might be a good idea to do this wherever you can.

Assuming all technical bulletins have been taken care of, including the canbus filter, ducati seems good about goodwill repairs on big failures. best of luck.

Thanks buddy!

Will update the post once done at SVC. I did try to go out but rains played a spoilt sport not letting me stripdown the plastics. Anyways if it doesnít rain tomorrow, will surely take to SVC for a check. Hoping that i dont get a big bill! Fingers crossed
