2014 Hyperstrada Throttle Body Safety Recall

Hey everyone,

Thought I'd share that my throttle body had a safety recall under warranty. Something about it might malfunction and put the bike into "limp mode" (3000-4000rpm max, severe lack of power). I got an email about it and my dealer is replacing it under warranty. Most of you might already know this, but I thought I would share what I learned.

For the record, it's not the throttle body, but the throttle mechanism itself...

While mine is still in the shop for my problem with the vertical cylinder (see: Bike decided to stop working on the autobahn...), this issue'll be solved as well. Towed away on the 16th of May; almost 7 weeks no bike. And since I think we had like 2 rainy days...

They fixed mine a few days ago.

I actually got to experience the throttle issue firsthand.

I would start my bike, see an "ERRORS" flash on my dash and then dissappear quickly. Then when you operated the throttle it would be very sluggish to rev up. Exactly like driving a car with "ECO" mode activated where you can smash the pedal to the floor and it will oh so slowly accelerate.

It could be "fixed" by turning the bike off and then on again. Ducati called it reverting to a "generic safe mode" or something to the like. I drove it down the highway in this error mode and it still got up to speed.... but not at the rate most motorcyclists would enjoy

Oh and for the record... I have a 2013.
