Very simple and easy. You do need a spanner to fit the adjustment teeth. Loosen the two pinch bolts and turn clockwise IIRC. Check adjustment (60mm) and then torque the pinch bolts.

Chain stretches pretty early, before 600 mile service for me. I adjusted before taking it in, and it has not needed anymore changes.

ok, were did you get the spanner? did you use a torque wrench to tighten the two pinch bolts?

For the uninitiated - pictures would be good

I have the motion pro shock adjuster, but this one looks like it would work also and cheaper.

If you look at the motion pro picture, I use the big end on that tool, little one is too small.

BikeMaster Shock Spanner Wrench | MotoSport

No service manual available. The Multi12 torque is 35nm for the pinch bolts m12.

I've been using a sink drain spanner for my adjustments. works pretty good and it's cheap. Tons of videos on youtube about chain adjustment on the ducks.

I Ride: was Monster soon Hyperstrada
It's pretty straight forward on adjusting the chain. If you look at the rear of the hub you will see two socket head pinch bolts. Just loosen then with an allen wrench. Then take the spanner wrench and rotate the spindle. If you look between the sprocket and wheel you will see the slots where the spanner wrench engages. I have a wrench from my 06 S2R Monster with the single sided swing-arm.

NOTE: when adjusting chain, be sure to have weight on the bike when fine tuning... doing so without weight will cause the chain to be tight when you sit on it (esp if you and a rider do) and can cause bad bad problems

Had to buy a spanner at shop this weekend. Kinda surprised tool kit didn't include one. Think even my old R6 had a spanner in the kit.

Yeah, me too. The Multi12 comes with one (2 piece) in the toolkit.
