Question Oil leakage after max braking

Hello

Weather in Sweden is getting better (though it's snowing right now!) and our organisation SMC (The Swedish Motorcyclists Association) has started to educate a lot of motorcyclists after the winter break.

Today I was at a training that contained balance and braking.
Some waiting with motor running, so the the motor temp was about 100 C (210 F) all the time.

The braking training was max braking from 30, 45 and 60 mph.
No problem with the braking.
But after max braking at 60 mph the instructor noticed some oil leakage just beneath the bike when I stopped.

First run at 60 mph, some small drops under the engine guard.
Second run at 60 mph, oil spot (10 cm in diam) on the ground just beneath the engine guard.

The training was now finished and I could not see any more oil leakage.

At home I removed the engine guard and started to look for oil leakage.
Surprisingly I didn't find anything! The motor was completely dry, no oil leakage. Only a slight tendency inside engine guard.

There are three tubs that ends where the engine tube is located:
- from cooling water reservoir tank
- from fuel tank
- from air filter box
I checked all the tubs inside and the were all dry.

The instructor though it could be oil from crankcase ventilation.
The crankcase ventilation goes into the air filter box.

Have anyone else had this phenomenon?

Probably found the problem.
To much oil in the motor, 0.5 L!
Shame on you, Bike dealer, Trollhättan, Sweden.

Glad you sorted it. I think it's actually easy to overfill the oil on this motor, if you just go by the volume that Ducati prescribes. I fill it a bit short, run it some and then re-check and top off, if needed. I never could fill it quite as much as manual says....
