The panniers claim that the max weight is 5 Kg per. Does this include the weight of the pannier or not. Who has loaded the stock ones the heaviest? |

I load them to about 17lbs, and apart from a broken zipper pull and purple fading, they're fine.

I think it's more a security advice, more related with driving than about panniers capacity.

Well, I ended up at 20.4 and 19. 713 Miles between IA and TN each way. |

The bags are very good though. Periodically I spray the mechanism with silicone spray and release/mounting is fine. They also hold a fair amount of stuff. Recently got a pair of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They take up no space and help keep things organized. I use one on each side in the half of the bag attached to the bike.

oddball question but has anyone had any issues with a pannier coming off at speed or on bumps? thankfully, haven't had this happen to me, but I do not have high confidence on the retention capability of the OEM set up. |

i hit a post at about 15-20 km/h, and the plastic piece on the pannier broke, no other problema than that (even at speeds above 180km/h)

I keep mine on 100% of the time. They always stay on! A couple week long trips, with them packed up. And then regular commuting and errands use. My zipper separated while on the last trip and won't fully open or close now. Took it to my dealer (GP Bikes near Toronto) to see if warranty will cover a repair, but I'm still waiting. If they won't take care of it, I'm thinking to replace the OEM with GIVI DLM30A Trekker Dolomiti Monokey 30L Aluminum Side Cases. But not being able to fit a helmet in the case is a concern. |

Keep the mechanism lubed so they click easily into place.
