Shift light?

Does anyone have a shift light, preferably an adjustable one, on their Hyperstrada? I've been hitting the rev limit Lately and it's way too aggressive and unsafe. i even smacked my chin into the windscreen the other day when it hit. On the bike I see a red light at the same moment it hits limit. I dunno about you, but I can't even see the revs on the dash while I'm riding, somewhat is useless.

Any luck with this?

This install info is for the gear indicator I installed. I am assuming the shift light would work the same.
Install was easy but the power wire was too short and I had to patch in another length of wire.
You have to unscrew the power tap, under the seat by the tail, to get at the red/black wire to tap into it. They provide taps and ties. I had to use a razor to cut back the covering on the bikes wiring coming into the power tap to get a good section of the red/black wire to tap into it.
I ran the units wiring cable up the right side of the bike and attached it just to the right of the instrument panel. There was even an open clip for the wire along the right frame tube. I removed the right side painted panel to get a better look at passing the wire through. Also loosened the bolts on seat cross brace to fit the wiring under it. At the front of the bike I undid a wiring clip up near the top of the forks and ran the wire through. It plugs into the bikes OBD diagnostic computer plug so it will have to be unplugged if the dealer is connecting for service.
Instructions are fine but you have to figure out how to run the wires on your bike.

My gear indicator unit works very well but note there is very short delay after changing the gear before the light changes. So does their shift light have a slight delay and if yes would that unit be worthwhile? I can't answer that one for certain but even a slight delay on a shift light is not good. If there is a delay you may have to set the light at a lower rpm to compensate for the delay.

I think I could get around any delay by setting the shift location earlier, right? So lets say I set it to 10k, that little delay will have it around 10250 or whatever.

It looks cool because you can have it change color as the revs go up. green yellow orange red or whatever. Thanks for this. I think I may want to have the service guy do it so I dont mess anything up. lol

Yep. A little experimenting will get a setting that works for your rev limit and the delay.
