termi?

WHen putting Termis on the bike do we HAVE to go to the ducati dealer to get the proper map installed or can it be done at home?

I'm so tired of the 4-5k range troubles I have that I'm willing to dish out the cash for the termis with the race ecu or however it works.

Get a Rexxer. Way cheaper than a Termi and works wonders.

Well, if you are interested in the low mount slip-on (no re-map needed), I have a new one (never mounted) for sale in classifieds.

Rexxer or RapidBike will help out more than a Termi. Think you only get the up-map with the full system. I'd take that money you'd drop on the Termi, get a Akra or Remus, high-flow air filter and have a shop install a tuner.

I have the RapidBike Evo and it smoothed everything out. Difficult to install yourself. Rexxer is cheaper and simple flash, it's just only good for a single configuration.

Yeah after speaking with someone at motowheels they convinced me to not buy the rexxer either. According to him, only one map can be loaded on the rexxer and to get a new one (if for example I add a high flow air filter or something later on) I have to send it back to get another map. As opposed to paying about half and having someone do it on a bench and send the ECU back to me.

Is that true? I was expecting a library of maps like power commander.

We have one die-hard Rexxer fan on here. I actually met the owner and developer of Rexxer (just so happens to co-own the shop near me in VA) and he confirmed that their tune is only good for current configuration. So, if you say get the tune for your pipe and then want to install the MWR power-up kit, you'll have to drop another $300 for another map.

I feel you're going the expensive route for a map. Your Remus is probably about as good as the Termi slip on regarding weight and flow/ power. I'd buy an Akra full system before the Termi kit, personally.

Why don't you just keep your Remus and get a RB tuner? You can install yourself for $500 or get it installed professionally for well under the full Termi kit price. I don't know what it costs from the US distributor but I don't think they'll just sell it to you and let you do the install yourself. I got mine from an Italian distributor for under $500 and RB confirmed it was authentic and not a refurb. Search "Rapidbike". I wrote a very detailed DIY. Not a very easy install with removing the fuel tank.

Or, buy the Termi and sell me your Remus! Did you get the black or stainless model? Like the sound? I think the Akra probably performs a little better but they sell the mid-pipe separately, and it's costly. Remus looks to be the most affordable can that isn't ugly.

Aftermarket exhausts are stupid. And they are ALL fucking ugly. Power gains are negligible and they sound like shit. I want to walk up and drop kick people off their bikes when they have a dumb loud exhaust.

Save your money for something useful like the new tires you'll be needing every 6 months if you actually ride.

I think our stocker sounds great and looks decent but, have you held the can removed? It's not light and a little portly. Slip-on with mid-pipe is good way to save some weight and ace the stupid cat. If you core out the stock pipe, you get one volume - annoying as hell. At least with most of the aftermarkets you get a DB killer insert.

I agree that they are way overpriced for what you get and most are ugly. That's why I'll wait to snatch a used one.
