slight coolant leak.

took delivery of a demo with 47 miles on it on a closeout price.

so far all is well and fitment is much better than my last bike. I have 400 on the clock and my last bike was already in the shop with serious issues lol.

anyways. i noticed this issue. pink coolant has gelled right by this adapter that seems to y a temperature sensor hose and engine block together. the adapter does not seem to be cracked and the source of the leak seems to be at a hose clamp I noticed that the hose clamp doesn't have a paint marker on it usually put there by the factory. I tightened the clamp and it seemed fairly tight but I went ahead and give it another turn or two.

anyone seen this issue before?

Tighten that hose clamp a little bit. Clean up the residue. Check your coolant level.

Mine leaked at one of the hose clamps and it was just a little loose.

Update on this:

I took this to a local master ducati tech. we looked at it with an inspection mirror. there is a flaw in the joint. the pinhole leak only lets water out when the system is hot. very minor leak.

the part is 30 dollhairs online. so I am going to just replace it myself rather than try and warranty and then not have a bike for like 2 weeks.

There was a TSB for 2013-14 models concerning loose coolant hoses, but I believe it concerned the main pump lines. Mine actually had a little leak near the radiator junction but I just tightened the clamp.

Hi guys. Mark this one resolved. I had time to do the tear down this weekend and the parts came in. I saw something pretty cool on the tear down. I kept looking for the flaws that the Ducati master tech hinted at and I could find no flaws in either part. But I did notice that the coolant was leaking past the crush washer on the temp sensor. The evidence was in the dried up coolant gathered up around the temp sensor.

So in the end it was actually a loose part. Just not the hose clamps.

Since I already ordered the parts I went ahead and threw them in instead of the hassle of trying to return them. The plastic t has been updated and now is a metal part. Looks much better too! The coolant hose has also been updated. It has better routing to the top of the motor. It isn't partially collapsed like the old one was and the routing is more logical. Better appearance too.

I also threw in a copper crush washer from a bmw e46 oil drain bolt application. same diameter but a hair thicker and hey its copper so thats nice. Much better than the stock AL crush washer.

Who knew!! Ducati is life. Life is Ducati.
