Check Rear Fender Bolts!

On random visual inspection I noticed my bolts holding the rear fender on seemed too proud. I tried to turn my hand and they were only in a couple of threads. Missing Loctite. Might want to check yours. Heads up. 750 miles.

Yes, my rear tire hugger broke because of a missing bolt.

Locktite with the new Motard hugger and bolts.

I replaced mine at 11K miles because it was damaged in an early rear blowout. It was secure and there was no Loctite. Probably just the shop got hasty when they assembled it.

I checked mine this morning. All loose! Tightened them up! Thanks for the heads up. 3500 miles.

I lost the bolt that fastens it to the inner swing arm, gotta remove the wheel to replace it... or as I did replaced it with a hex head so a little open end spanner can get to it.

Huh? When I replaced mine, I definitely didn't take the wheel off.

I cut the head down of a small hex key which allowed me to barely fit it in without taking the wheel off.

You park in a public garage near DC? I hope to god you triple chain, disc lock, bolt to the floor, and hire a security guard. Maybe even some rabid dogs. All my friends that park in garages get jacked. Nice bike, BTW. Love the exhaust.

Naw not a public garage. Private work garage with 7x24 guard, cameras. In five years since we opened there have been no breaches of security. I built the place so made sure things were tight. I hear you though. I'm going to retire in a couple of years and while I bet I'm able to continue to keep my bike there I'm planning for the worst.
