For those that upgraded to LED headlight bulbs

I swapped out the stock headlight bulb this weekend to an LED bulb.
Everything went fine, however I noticed that the high beam indicator now blinks when I engage the high beam.

From what I have researched, the high beam indicator will blink when it senses a bad electrical connection in the circuit.

So I am thinking its blinking because it doesn't sense enough of a current draw (?).

So has anyone whom upgraded to an LED bulb (or even HID) experienced the blinking high beam indicator light?

I switched to LED 3 or 4 months ago and haven't had any issue, however switching to HB doesn't add too much difference and I had to adjust the projection distance ALLOT before it was correct.

What LED bulb did you buy?

My Cyclops LED bulb works as advertised with no high beam issues.

it's a generic H4 LED bulb with the can bus module on it. it works fine, the only thing is that the high beam indicator blinks when I engage high beam. Just wondering if anyone else has had this.

Mine never did this. I am however glad the kit came with two, because I had the low beam burn out on mine after 9000 miles. YMMV.

No problem with the stock advmonster LED. see my posts on getting light to the road though, as the crees are not in the exact same spot as a a standard bulb filament.

Here's an interesting thread on a new bulb that is more precise with the led placement:

H4 LED by Evitek F2 has achived the same focus as H4 halogen bulb - new 2018 | Adventure Rider

This poster is the LED guru. My info in bulb placement wthin the reflector came from another of his threads.

thanks appliance. one of the decision criteria I used was to go with a fanless bulb, as I don't think there is enough clearance behind the housing to put dust cap on and still ensure good airflow.

oops - I did go with a fan bulb - I meant to say cyclops 3800 LED. After a full season with the fan, I've had no problems. Not sure the metal mesh ones are still for sale, but haven't heard of problems with them.

Her's a link for the evitek bulbs under another name: https://www.amazon.com/Alla-Lighting...=evitek+led+f2

This is for 2 bulbs. With the led's in the same place, and mimicking the dimensions of a standard filament, this should work without special alignment for the reflector. It also has a sharp low beam cut off.

If someone tries it - post the results. I've shimmed and aligned my current bulb so I'm happy with the output - ie: I can see enough of the road even when blinded by oncoming lights.
