Oil pressure warning below 2000 RPM

My 2014 Hyperstrada had some work done on the engine ( a cracked crankcase was replaced ). The engine seems to run fine and there is nothing that feels 'off'. However, since I brought the bike home, I have noticed that the oil pressure warning light, that goes off when the engine is first started, comes on whenever the engine RPM drops below 2000. Is this normal and have I just noticed this now or is something up with the sensor or the oil ?

Check your oil filter and screen are not plugged. It could be a damaged pressure sensor. How did you damage the case?

Oil level correct? If it's low the pressure can come up with higher revs and drop again at low revs. Not good. If the level is correct, get it back to the repair shop.

The case was damaged when a steel angle on a bridge got kicked up by the front wheel and struck the oil drain plug, cracking the case through. Luckily the bike was on its way to the dealer for routine oil service and they were able to get the case changed under insurance.

The bike is due for a 1000 km oil service after the 'overhaul' so I'm not riding it these days till that's done. It is possible that the pressure sensor may have gotten wonky when they re-assembled the engine. I have informed the service department and they will send someone around to look at it and replace the sensor if needed.

The oil level is right, I checked it multiple times. The warning light comes on only after the coolant temp goes above 70 Deg C. The Dealer is sending a tech around to check the bike out and replace the oil / filter and the pressure sensor if needed. Hopefully that fixes it.

Bad Sensor

Since the bike had just come back from the workshop ( Crankcase change due to a cracked case half ) and there was a minor oil leak from the oil pressure sensor, the Dealer sent a mechanic over.
Turns out, that the sensor is bad. The leaking oil causes the sensor to register low pressure. Over a thousand km , I must have lost about 100 ml of oil. The bike had an oil change service and I'm watching the oil level like a hawk. The sensor has been ordered and should be installed in a month or so , as soon as I can ride down to the Dealer ( 300km ). Not happening till the monsoon rains are past us , which should be in the second week of September.
