Abs levels

Is there a difference in stopping distance between the ABS levels? It seems logical that if a higher level ABS setting cuts in sooner, then it prevents achieving maximum braking force. A lower setting that lets the tyres slip more before cutting in but still preventing slides would allow you to stop sooner.

Has anyone ever done any stopping distance testing on this?

I'm not sure what model you have, but the Gen 1 Strada's ABS didn't modulate level of intervention, just both tires, front tire, or off (Motard only). I would hope both tires stops better than just front, but I like sliding the rear so I leave it on 1.

I would assume differing levels just mean differing amounts of sensitivity as to when ABS kicks in. I've got the levels stock on my SP at the moment and have noticed the ABS kicking on in cases where I am pretty sure I'd not actually have locked the front (braking in a straight line over parallel rail tracks as an example. I haven't messed with any setting yet, but I've got a rear tire will maybe 1k left on it, so maybe it's time to start playing with sliding the rear (in a parking lot of course)
