Hyper 821 won't rev over 7.5k

Hey everyone,

I hoping you guys might be able to help me out. I have a 2013 hyper which I recently did some upgrades to including, Rapidbike Evo + qs, MWR filters + power up (added filter), removed flapper valve, and a SC projects oval slip-on. Note all done at once. I've uploaded Kuksul08 map and seems to be running way better than autotune. However the bike will not rev past 7.5 in neutral and will not go above 7K under load. Also even up to 7k it feels like a lack of power like it's in some type of limp mode. I didn't have this problem before installing these parts. From the research I've done I heard it could be a bad neutral switch or micro clutch switch. I've tried by passing the micro clutch switch both unplugging and connecting the wires together. i also inspect the wiring going to the neutral sensor that seemed to be okay. I'm lost on what to do next. Is there a way to bypass the entire neutral sensor, test it or am I completely going in the wrong direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards
Mike

I'd probably start with the RB wiring. You can run some stout diagnostics with the free software from Dimsport. If you rule electrical out, I had an issue where I pinched my fuel line putting the tank back on and it was very hard to diagnose - severe loss of power above 1/4 throttle.

Good luck.

Thanks, I definitely checked for the fuel line pinch a few week back after reading that post. I might dig back into the wiring again to see if that the issue.

Edit: Ah never mind suggested the clutch switch but saw you already checked that.

I just realized I had the wrong wire jumped since I did this months back. I found and un-jumped the mirco clutch switch and definitely seems to run better and rev quicket. I'm still not getting much past 8k on wide open throttle under load. Should it be getting to 10k? I've forgotten how stock feels after not riding it so long.

Should get to 10k without issue, assuming the bike is in gear with the clutch engaged.

correct, the bike is under load (riding the bike). It has trouble getting past 8k even in first gear. Note- bike is in sport mode and RPM is set to high in setting

You can't really jump the switches. You need it open for starting the bike, and you need it closed so it doesn't think the clutch is always pulled in.

Do you have stock gearing?

I'm running -3 rear sprocket and stock front. I would think even if were in 1st or 2nd gear that I would be able to hit 10k in rpms. But it just stops about 8k. The open clutch switch made a good difference however. Should I do some sort of hard reset since I ran 200+ miles with the clutch switch closed?

Well the reason I ask about gearing is that my 2014 Hyper was weird. When I changed the gearing I couldn't rev past 8000 anymore, but only in 2nd gear. The other gears were fine...

Do you get flashing red lights when you hit 8k? Does it feel like a rev limiter?
