2013 strada Clutch mishap?

Disclaimer: I am much more a computer nerd than mechanically-adept

2013 hyperstrada ~25,000 miles. All original clutch components.

The small lever on the case where bottom of clutch cable hooks into didn't appear to be the correct position after threading the new clutch cable through.... the shaft it rides on also has ~1/4" of play...(as in I can pull the lever away from the case and push it back in) not sure if that is normal.

But essentially I can no longer manipulate that lever in a way to get the clutch to disengage. So I guess my next available time to work on my bike will mean taking the cover off and digging deeper. As far as I understand, the lever connects to some mechanism in the case that pushes the pressure plate away form the clutch pack to go into "neutral" ? Well that action if you will, seems to be disconnected/broken

I am more or less posting this incase anyone can call me out for missing something simple or give me some insight into what situation has most likely occured as I can't really afford to pay ducati maintanence prices at the moment

I'm thankful for any suggestions or insight you guys may provide!

Idon't have the answer, but I know that this was discussed somewhere on the forum. Hopefully that person checks in. Maybe check the clutch upgrade thread.

You turned the lever coming out of the case backwards too far and it pushed the 'throw out pull pin' in too far. If you look at the end of the shaft it's like a 2 finger claw that ramps up. Turn it 1 way and it hooks and pulls the pin. Turn it the other way and it gos past it's free play area and the ramp area pushes it in. It will be an easy fix . Pull the cover and pull the pin back into the pressure plate. Or, an easier way would be to(if you have one laying around) take a push rod from any of the other Ducati bikes that have hydraulic clutches, pull the sprocket cove, then the little plug cover and push that rod into the hole. It will push the pin back into location and the claw can hook it again.

The lower belt cover will give you a bit of a hassle when taking the clutch case cover off(if you go this route. If you go with the push rod to push it back in disregard this). You dont need to remove the lower belt cover but you will need to remove the bolts closest to the cover as well as loosen the other bolts. There is a pry tab on the clutch cover. If you were to take the belt cover off you could use it to break the sealant on the cover but you dont 'need' to. That tab is what you will be fighting with. The first time I took mine off I took a small dremel tool and cut a tiny chunk out of the belt cover to aid in future removals. Now I only take the clutch cover bolts out to get it off.

It appears I sheared the head of the pin which dicked up the four-fingered pressure plate. Sent an email to the parts dept of my local shop. Guess it could have been worse!

Anyone have a good recommendation of a website that they use to order parts incase I can't get a timely response? I try to support the local shop first.

Read any clutch threads (like mine) carefully before beginning. You'll need some long 2.5mm (?) fine threaded bolts to hold the clutch pack together. If you haven't done the judder kit, recommend that while you're in there. Can't help you with reassembly as I hosed the actuator up myself and then shit-canned it for hydraulic setup.
