Surging

I was driving home this evening on the freeway and it seamed like the engine was surging. I was holding a constant throtte position. The bike was in touring mode in 6th gear at about 6200 rpm. Has anyone noticed something similar?

My hyper is a 2013 model and does not likely have the latest ecu update. I'll take it in to the dealer this weekend.

Was it while constant gas or when you used Engine-break?
I got it when I use engine break.

mine does some surging between 4-5k and between 6-7k rpm. just a minor annoyance since i take it easy and mostly ride between 5-6k. if i felt like breaking the sound barrier, i take the rpm to 7k and beyond anyway. somebody mentioned to me that it has something to do with the flapper (exhaust) valve

somehow i always forget to mention it to the dealer every time i go visit

You shouldn't have surging above 4K. The US update smoothed out most of the powerband.

The ECU has to be updeted twice or to the latest version.

I updated mine at last July and January.

Thanks. I'll report back after the ecu update if that solved the issue.

I Ride: anything I can get my hands on
Took a few thousand miles, along with the update, but my Strada will putt along at 2500 rpm without surging. I bought mine in May 2013.

since the last update, mine runs smooth, no issues hunting at constant revs or surging going into a bend.

I Ride: Hyperstrada
Mine had the surge from 3000 to 4000 rpm. The software update took care of it.

I just got back from dealer after getting the updates. Unfortunatly the stumble/surge at 6200 rpm still exists. I also noticed its pretty bad at 7k as well. I have a California model. Maybe the calibration is compromised more for emissions.
