Before I run off to the dealer (wasting a rare day off work) I wanted to see if anyone here had an idea of whats going on. Problem: I turn my key, startup sequence performs normally, go to hit starter button on controller.... and I receive absolutely no response. Its like im hitting a dead button. No attempt from the starter.. no clicking noise... nothing. What ive done so far: Brand new battery Checked fuse boxes in front left fairing and under seat (all ive had time for) |

I had this, too..a few times. Just turned the electric off and on again and then it starts normally. I recognized much problems with the electric at the Strada, It's not the best one. |

NiceWeatherManni, I'm not sure what you mean by "turn electric on/off again" I have tried to start it up many times, also unhooked battery, installed new battery, etc etc. Additional things I have tried: -checked the ECU fuses (the 2 30A under the seat), also fine. -I considered the kickstand kill switch but have tried with it in neutral and clutch engaged so I can say somewhat confidently that isnt the issue. -Double checked a PIN code was not entered on accident on the immobilizer |

Usual suspects? Kickstand down, in gear clutch in? |

I'm rooting for you that it's not the same issue I had, but it sounds like it... | |

Trying pulling the dash fuse with power on. I blew this fuse a couple times wiring lamps and the dash takes a few startups to re-learn a few parameters, like total mileage, etc. I believe it's fuse slot 2 in forward box. 10A Oh, and bike will start when dash fuse is removed. Try that, too. |

jerdog53: I have tried both of those Frank Rizzo: I am already on my 2nd ECU as the first update from the Factory bricked my first ECU-just got lucky they had the demo unit. (so it wouldnt surprise me a bit) gatdammit: I will give this a shot when I get home from work... interestingly enough, my total mileage/odometer hasnt worked the last 3,000mi ive ridden. If anyone has any further ideas Im open to hearing them! Much appreciated! |

lol gat, I don't think I fully understand your comment. Does the horn have some sort of extreme value that I do not understand? I suppose I will be heading to the dealership in the morning when I get off work... just what I wanted to do after 12 hours of graveyard shift. |

Hello I am the happy owner on an HS since may 2013. and have about 11000 km. First trouble around 500 km: dead start button. Had to bring it back to the dealer: ECU reset and update fixed the issue Second ECU update, on dealer request around 4000, which was the good one: to obtain the smooth rev effect. Second trouble around 6000 km: clutch cable broken while driving, warranty replacement. Third trouble around 8000 km: lost the central stand left axe bolt while driving and had to stop and find a temporary fix to prevent the stand to interact whith chain. Both axes bolts replaced and correctly secure locked ( locktite) : check yours !! Fourth issue: the front brake shacking effect at low speed ( reported in other threads. not the pad, not the disk, still investigating Fifth issue yesterday @ 11000: the christmas tree syndrom. Was running fine, and suddenly all dashboard signal started to flash randomly, warning lights on. and engine power self reduced. After a poweroff /on cycle: engine errors, can bus error, suceeded to restart and drove back safely home, with the christmas tree mode. Bike back to dealer: first diagnostic: ecu / electronic / cabling / contacts probable issue. The bike turned crazy, on power on, the warning lights, all dash indicators, the cooler fans are on, as well has the break light are flashing randdomly. Very nice Power off, remove the key, and the christmas tree syndrom is still on, for about 5 mn, then stop. huuu! They will fix it for sure, and they will take the opportunity to install the steering head upper bearing seal upgrade. |
