If my engine dies during a takeover I might get crushed by the same semi I've been trying to take over. I'd rate that as kinda dangerous.

so .. same problems as two weeks before. automotive club suggested that maybe one of the cables that leads to the dash was broken (confirmed by yanking the cable-tree and provoking "errors" and .. no errors display).

apparently when fitting the rubber seal that covers the drive shaft (or whatever it's called in english) some cables were harmed.

gonna have the biked towed to the dealership, again.

I Ride: 13 Hyperstrada
This just happened to me too. 5850km, well maintained. Just riding through town and the light show started. Dealer (60km away) is now waiting for parts from Italy. New dashboard, coils, etc. Ducati, you've really let me down.

Gosh...is that isolated case or really that common?

Dash/coil/etc replacement solved the prob?

I agree with you. In fact, this is exactly what I said to Ducati. But lawyers think "your steering and brakes still work, and when passing you should plan for the worst". Remember, they charge thousands of $$ to save the company hundreds.

I Ride: 2013 Ducati Hyperstrada, 2004 Ducati S4R 1000 Monster, Honda CRF50
Yesterday was my turn!
Riding at 60km/h and total engine shut down.
1100km's on the bike! I am dreading how long this is going to take to get fixed.

Over here: 3 weeks and counting.

I've had the bike towed twice so far.

As they say - three time's the charm. If they aren't able to *really* fix it this time, I'm gonna sell it back to the dealer and turn my back on Ducati.

I don't have time for this (and the yamaha mt-09 rally looks sexy, too).

Dash went nuts, frustration sets in

My dash turned to a light show at 1,200Miles. Bike stopped, I was stranded for several hours. Taken 2 weeks for the dealer to get around to diagnosis. (was in a queue)

Diagnosis is needs new dash. So, i'll wait another 2 weeks to ride an expensive bike that I have no confidence in. meh.
