Unhappy engine failure, starting not possible

hi everybody .. just a heads up to all of you so that you're aware that this might happen to you, too.

10 days ago I wanted to drive home from work .. ignition worked, but the dash lights started to flicker luna-park like. After going 50m with that lightshow I shut it off and tried to re-start the bike, but to no avail. Engine light constantly active, dashboard displayed "ERRORS".

Had to have the bike towed to the dealership. It took them one week to finally assess the error. They said they had to swap the dashboard AND some controlbox with a test bike that they have over there to make the error go away. The software readout only listed an error in the dashboard (and that one didn't go away when they swapped only the dash).

Long story short: my hyper is getting new electronics because ducati is not able to readout the exact error or, more specifically, the ducati software doesn't report that error correctly.

This happened 2 weeks after the one-year-service, so the bike was in good condition, I didn't tamper with anything.

I'm a bit frustrated with the whole situation .. always having to wonder if the bike is going to start isn't such a nice feeling when you're considering 4000km+ tours ..

They didn't say anything about the coils? Most other members that had similar issue had to replace dash and coil(s).

And the ECU in my case.....
The bike starts always, but it is more like an explosion some times.

Nah, they didn't say anything about those. Not really impressed with the workmanship they've shown so far (once, the screw that holds the rear brake fluid just fell off .. I mean .. come ON, that's not supposed to happen!).

I'm kinda frightened what will break next. I don't want to end up in a valley in the french alps without cellphone coverage and a dead ducati. That would really ruin my day.

I've attached a pic of my dash (lights, yay!).

Also notice the weird DTC setting (that was cycling through all the possible values without me pushing any buttons).

Until it poses a risk to people, it won't get a recall. Might at best get a TSB, or get turned into a "hidden warranty". So far, the numbers are not high enough to cause issue, and even still it doesn't look like it would cause an accident (if your engine dies, you can still safely pull over and stop).
