Clearly you are all better mechanics than I because it was a pain in the ass to change my clutch cable. I had to take all of the plastic off and lossen the bolts holding the tank so that I could get enough room to pull the cable through to the lever. The adjustment point on the right hand side was a bit or work too. It took me several hours of time. I thought briefly about replacing the air filter “as long as I was in there” and finally gave up. I cant see how you can do it without completely removing the fuel tank, which requires removing the battery and ECM. Again I may just suck at wrenching but it was NOT an easy job for me. Got it done and have a spare cable for the next time?

Pulling the tank is not a difficult task. Just more involved than it should be. The air filter is quite the pain though, the way some of the screws are hidden near the head tube.

I used a coat hanger and some electrical tape to pull it through behind the handle bar. That was the hardest part for me, the rest went relatively smooth.

I end up pulling the tank. Yes you have to get some things out of the way but made the cable change easier. Plus I changed out the air filter. Hopefully it will be awhile before I have to do that again.
