11000 hard trouble free miles on mine now. oil change every 4500.
Adjust/lubricate chain and clutch lever as required.
Pulls hard and uses no oil.

I've got 38,000 miles on mine and i ride the piss out of it!

Its been through several crashes and even one really bad highway wreck. Fixed her up cosmetically and away she went. Looks like new again.

I've done my own valve adjustment services twice now. And Keep her well maintained. I can definitely see another 40k easy out of it without something major needing to be done

I occassionaly drive mine hard to the speed limit: 230km/h. Does not burn oil yet. I say yet since I'm expecting some signs this summer or the next has the bike has already reached 63000 km.

I'm planning on buying a gauge to monitor the engine torque loss.

Man, this sounds just like what I've been through with my Fireblade. Two crashes. I've found it's made me become loads more emotionally attached to it, like, you've been through some tough times together, and so you become more bonded.

Or am I just an overly sentimental motherfucker?

I always liked a sticker my uncle had on his helmet: "If it's got tits or wheels, it's bound to give you trouble sooner or later."

All vehicles fuck up. My Honda Pilot transmission nuked at 100K. I bought that for "trouble-free ownership". My '91 4-Runner was absolutely bullet proof but I sure as hell wasn't going to buy a Camry or Sienna for my family car. So, you have to inject some personal taste if you're truly gonna be happy with it. I've owned 5 VW's and their electrics were shit but, I still bought a TDI Sportwagen because I wanted the engine, I like the looks and it's fun to drive.

Why in the hell do people buy $100K MB's when they are worth $30K 2 years later? Passion.

My commute is pretty short lately but I've driven her like she's stolen since break-in. 3 years/ 11K miles later and beyond recalls it's only needed routing maintenance. Biggest thing I note on my Strada is it's never scared me like my past bikes did. It's the most in-control of a machine I've ever felt. Even when I scraped the center-stand in a turn I just chopped the throttle and it stood right up. Had a couple close calls in traffic and the bike did exactly what I wanted it to. It's a good machine and does what it advertises with a zest I wasn't expecting.
