I Ride: HS 821, SF 848
My Ducati dealer told me today that the Hyperstrada continues to be available as an 'order only' bike for the time being, meaning it can still be purchased but any stock will have to be shipped from Italy (which has been the case in Australia since the launch of the 939 actually).

I also sat on a pre-production Multistrada 950 today and I was surprised how good it felt. Looks as bulky as the Multi 1200 but once you sit on it it doesn't feel all that different from the Hyper, just much more comfortable .

I Ride: anything I can get my hands on
And 70 pounds more weight than my Hyper. They can keep it.

Yeah, that's what I don't get: It weighs the same as the multi and magazines call it a lightweight alternative.

Sad day really.

I got a similar feeling when I sat on an FJ-09 - thing reminded me of our Electra-Glide.

I Ride: 13 Hyperstrada
The extra weight is really a deal breaker for me. Honestly, so is the regular swing arm.

HyperProject

Ducati dealer tempted me into test riding HS with deep discount. It was 2 years old and only had 200 miles on it. By the end of my test ride it had 400 miles on it and I plunked down $1000.

Unbelievable fun bike to ride with horrendous front forks. Rear shock seemed OK but hate the front end. HM with SP suspension was temping but forget that additional 3" of inseam. I'm a 33" inseam and I was on my toes in a HM but the HS, almost flat footed. Only down side, other than the crappy forks, is my toes touch down before the chicken strip goes away. Going full Mupo on suspension like RSL. Cost me but I just needed the bags and lower seat, so I'm buying the better suspension.

I have 5 bikes - 2 R1150S bikes I built and 2 RC-51s. If I could only have one bike, it would be this Ducati. Does so many things well except go distance between gas stops.

No, I just screwed up with MS vs. HS. Fixed, thanx...

"Baby" multistrada doesn't interest me. Same 939 engine in a bigger, heavier package. Zzzzzz.

What a great quote. You are a poet. I'm feeling better and better about this new bike of mine.
