The 821 engine for other bikes?

Heard that Ducati is going to use the 821 engine on future bikes.
For 2015 they are going to make a monster 821 (replacing the 796) and a mini multistrada (new looks) with the 821 in it.
Is the last one a replacement for the hyperstrada or just a size "bigger" version?

Other news was a new look on the panigale and the multistrada, all in 2015.....
Also a retro kind a bike..... Not the scrambler but another one....

Regards.

Wow that would be great news! The 821 is such a great engine, seeing it in a monster or a classic would be great! May have to convince my fiancť she wants one...

Interesting a 821 Multistrada, and what would be different about it over the Hyperstrada? Larger fuel tank, longer adjustable suspension, bigger bags? What?

Be nice if it had a 19" front and a 150 wide rear so we could have more tire choices.

I'd like the 19'' front wheels, but I wouldn't want the bike too come with bags to keep the price down. I rather buy the bags on the after market and they be off road bags then sport touring bags.

I also hope they don't make the bike any smaller in size, the multistrada is the perfect size for me, but was a bit too much bike for me coming from a 500 cc scooter.

I'm guessing there's gonna be alot of good bikes in 2015. I'm hoping 1200 cc bikes get phased out as gas prices might get worse in a few years and the rise of the 800 cc bikes become more popular.

The 821 will be Duc's workhorse for many years. It could work in so many models.

Hopefully we provided enough feedback up the chain and they at least offer a fully adjustable suspension. The brakes need some attention. They could also make some money offering adventure gear like hard luggage, driving lamps, really big windscreen, sump/radiator guards, etc.

I was into the local big box store dealer over the break and talked to the Duc guy and mentioned to him about the 821 in other frames like the Monster and Multi and he rubbed the tip of his nose which I took to mean that was spot on, he then went on to talk about the 1200 Monster. So there may be some truth to this for the 2015 MY.

This paragraph of a review was one of my favorites about the 821 engine -

"With the Monster 821 and its bigger brother, the 1200, the Monster line is finally growing up. The biggest Monsters are now water-cooled, with the 821 getting the 821cc, Testastretta 11' V-Twin that motivates the Hypermotard. It kicks out 112bhp and 66lb-ft, figures almost identical to those of the classic 916 Superbike's 114bhp and 65lb-ft and 25bhp up on the outgoing Monster 796 (and 12 more than the Monster 1100 Evo). That should give you an idea of how far the Monster has come. For further comparison, the original air-cooled Monster 900 put out 80bhp and 59lb-ft from its Desmodue."

Its nice to see a longitudinal comparison as opposed to most reviews saying "well its down on power compared to todays street nakeds (liter+ bikes)" ...yada yada.

Can't believe they double sided the swingarm. To me it's one of those awesome design features that makes buying an entry level Duc worth it.
