Larger Windshield and heated grips

My Hyperstrada is supposed to arrive in 3 weeks. We will see. I ordered the larger touring windshield for $193.
I am waiting on the heated grips.
Anyone else doing this?

I haven't decided if I am going heated grips or gloves. I was trying to figure out if the factory heated grips has a temp controller some where.

According to the ever trustworthy web "Heated grips for the new Ducati Hypermotard and Hyperstrada fit to mounting points already available on the handlebar and feature temperature adjustment to keep hands warm even in coldest weather. A perfectly integrated kit for your Hyper."

But the pictures are inconclusive....

I still have yet to see and good photographs of the bars.

The dealer quoted me three hours of labor to install the heated grips. Seems excessive to me. He stated the computer had to be programmed to know the grips were there. Not sure about that either. I assume it is wired to the battery (like heated gloves)

Mmmmm Doesn't seem right to me I put heated grips on my bike and didn't take me an hour granted I didn't have to flash the computer but I think that's a two minute five-minute deal three hours seems way excessive

That length of time does seem excessive. I do think the larger wind shield and heated grips are a wise choice. I will probably do the same.

I think ill test the regular size windscreen before pulling the trigger on the larger one but I was thinking into buying was the tail bag because my girlfriend has back problems and I think it would help her to have some support for her back. I was looking on the pictures section and there is a red hyperstrada with the tailbag but it seems to be very further back for the passenger to use as a back rest. What do you guys think?

I was reading up on what they do to install the heated grips on a Multi. Looks like they have to pull the tank to get to the connectors. I hear its a bit of a job to pull the Multi tanks so maybe that's why they quoted 3 hrs. Then there is the programing to turn on the heated grip feature in the software. That's probably a 10 minute job.

Unless I lived in a particularly icy clime I think I'd wait for the heated grips option: the Hyperstrada has what look like useful-sized hand-protectors that may be sufficient, particularly at the mooted 3-hour cost of installation (+ of course cost of the units themselves). The taller touring screen is on my list, once I've appraised the OE item.
