I really want a motard but it is just too tall. The Strada fits but I have little interest in the touring bits. Has anyone converted it back to a short Hypermotard? What is the value of the parts after removal if they are new? I am hoping that I can pay for some suspension upgrades that it sounds like the bike will need. I just sold my MTS1000 and have no time for touring. |

There's no real differences between the non SP HM and HS besides the rear shock and the seat. You can easily convert it ecstatically to look like a HM, and yes you can sell the panniers and stuff, but they're so nice to have if you want to do a weekend camping trip.

Also remove the handlebar risers, skid plate, and rear mud guard. Did the motard come with the hi/low suspension option?

Once you get better the best Motard would still be one of the big KTM or Husky SM singles out there. These guys are the fastest on our infamous Sunday Morning Ride. (NorCal) Crazy antics on the road ... We have a nice Super Moto track near me at Sear's Point Raceway. It doubles as a Cart track and makes a good Super Moto track! I rode a WR250X there. Pretty fun but I no longer have the required testosterone to really hang it out. Do you? I would leave your HyperStrada alone ... sell it intact, buy a real Super Motard bike ... if your committed to that style. | |
