At long last it’s been decided that the complete destruction of my bikes electronics was caused by a recall part failure. The shop contacted me to let me know that Ducati will be picking up the bill for the new ECU, dashboard, ignition coils etc.

The guy at the shop was very professional and helpful this time around.

I’m still gonna be waiting a few weeks for the parts to come in.

Great news Mike! Not about the wait lol, but at least Ducati is taking care of business, you may have Peruxi to thank for their cheerful mood:D.

Thank you!
It's a huge relief. After talking to the shop last week I got off the phone and started debating parting the bike out because his estimate of the parts cost alone was almost what the bike is worth.

It's also a big relief that the shop is actually working the problem. The guy mentioned that they've been totally slammed with work and communication is getting lost in translation from one person to another. And he admitted he was stuck with the troubleshooting and had to make a call to Italy for some technical assistance.

Anyway, YAY! Daisy Duck will ride again!!!!

Great news - and sounds like a good shop. Ducati did a similar good will repair on a friend's strada. Was the failure related to the canbus filter service bulletin retrofit?

I'm not certain. The guy at the shop mentioned replacing the ignition coils but wasn't clear about the root cause of the failure. I'm gonna ask him for specifics when the bike is ready to go.

He said he was very surprised at the level of support Ducati was giving for a bike that isn't under warranty.

I guess someone over there is a genuinely caring and generous person. I'm very thankful to them whoever they are.

Got my bike back yesterday. No charge for the repair. If I knew I wouldn't be charged before I would have taken it to the shop a long time ago. After riding my LS650 all these months I need to get comfortable with the weight and the perspective all over again.
The odometer has the correct mileage from before but my custom riding mode is history.

But she's running good again thanks to Ducati and the guys at Montgomeryville Cycle.

Well Mike, from how it all started to now hearing this is very refreshing, glad you had a great experience, sometimes we catch people and some businesses in their "off days" heck sometimes is "off weeks" and the settings are a small price to pay for a great running bike;). Enjoy!

All the experts out here on the forum. Can you please advise. I live in Mumbai which has seen lots of rain for last 3 months. I have been riding my Hyper in these rains. To make matters worse, i don't have a covered parking in my apartment or at work, so its mostly exposed to rain. Can that be a reason for Can Line error. I have not been able to get plastic off to check these connections as there is rain as of now as well!

Any advice to sort it will help. I do plan to take to Service centre but before that if i can take care of the issue...it helps. Ducati guys have not put up remedial measures for these troubles to kind of bypass something to ride home or to a nearby service centre

My bike still drove but in limp mode only.
As I understand it the culprit is a short circuit in an ignition coil resulting in a severe current spike through the CANbus which potentially fries all connected circuity.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't know if rain has any impact on this.
